Harmony School's mission is to create a warm and natural environment that encourages children to explore and develop their individual capabilities and to learn problem-solving and respect for others in a spirit of kindness that nurtures a sense of belonging in our community. Our School Motto, “Inspiring Curiosity, Conservation and Creativity” informs all our decisions, as we strive to support the development of our students, both as individuals and as members of society.
Our classroom infrastructure is designed around classrooms with 10:1 student to instructor ratios, with a typical classroom of 20 multi-aged students, 1 teacher, and 1 assistant-teacher. This arrangement allows for substantial 1-on-1 student-teacher interaction.
OUR PROGRAM
During the Montessori Work Cycle, students are provided a space for hands-on inquiry-based learning that emphasizes the acquisition of solid academic skills in reading, writing, math, and research.
Through curriculum based projects, students are provided a local and global awareness and appreciation for the environment utilizing our outdoor classroom spaces.
At Harmony, students are encouraged to develop a respect for self and others. They learn self-motivation, self-reliance, and the ability to think critically.
Field trips enhance learning at Harmony School. Harmony preschool students go on at least one field trip a month and elementary students every Friday where they conduct experiments, have unique experiences, and apply their classroom learning.
